Studio Title: Kruysman-Proto Applied Studies Fall 2013 – Eye,Robot
Instructor: Brandon Kruysman / Jonathan Proto

“Eye, Robot” focuses on the intersection of computation, robotic fabrication, and cinematography. The course will explore robotic motion control as a creative medium for designers, mainly through the use of the custom robotic animation software platform, designed specifically for the SCI-Arc Robot House.

Instructor: Peter Testa
AT: Jonathon Stahl
Research Fellows: Brandon Kruysman, Jonathan Proto, AT: Jonathon Stahl

RobbieBobbyRobot seeks to explore new frameworks in the complex relationships between form, fabrication, and representation using the SCI-Arc Robotics Lab. Rather than a singular approach to the lab, we divided up our work into a series of smaller experiments. The first is a collaborative robotics project utilizing additive and subtractive fabrication processes to create proto-architectures within the scale of the lab.

This project subsists on the translational discrepancies that arise during interplay between an excessively controlled but exceedingly irresolute digital environment and its materialization into the reality of physical space. sPhysical seeks the epitome of synthesizing digital tools with physical expression by re-conceptualizing material design processes and applications in the field of architecture.
